SUMMARY:Mini-workshop on Psychological Safety at FlowCon France 2024
DESCRIPTION:I will be returning to FlowCon France\, this time to do a mini-workshop on Psychological Safety on March 6-7 in Paris\, France. \nPsychological Safety in Teams\nPsychological safety in teams is important; team members must feel safe and able to communicate and collaborate effectively to deliver value. It’s also necessary to build long-lasting teams since things will happen and relationships will be strained. \nBut\, how safe is a team? How can we determine if there are any factors that make the team unsafe or have an impact on the team’s culture? \nIn this mini-workshop\, we’ll play games for psychological safety and team culture utilizing a deck of coaching cards\, The Psychological Safety Cards. We will learn how to use gamification to gain a better understanding of what’s going on in teams. Individuals share what they have learned from working in teams\, what has impacted the team’s safety and culture\, and what has led to positive change. \nDifferent game formats will be played in groups in parallel. Examples are an ice-breaker to get people talking about psychological safety\, a constellation where people take positions about aspects of psychological safety in their team or organization\, and collaborative card games where people work together to create an environment that fosters psychological safety. \nFlowCon France\nFlowCon has been bringing together software development professionals for 10 years around a main concept: product development flow\, whether Lean Kanban (originally)\, agility\, Lean\, Continuous Delivery\, Beyond Budgeting\, and all the international thoughts on how to work better as a team. All the organizers\, speakers\, sponsors\, and participants come together around these questions. \nAttendees come to FlowCon to experience a selection of talks from around the world. Flowcon claims a mix of participants\, from the developer to the boss\, rarely gathered in the same place\, and all concerned by common subjects. \nFlowcon has become a key conference for the French Agile community\, with the ambition to go beyond our borders. Hosted by renowned national and international speakers\, the conference addresses the topics at the heart of the concerns of modern agility.
